THE STORY

An Indian alt‑rock singer‑songwriter weaving heartbreak, hope, and second chances.

I go by rjshekar.

Born in Hyderabad, made in Bangalore, I write songs that sit somewhere between heartbreak and hope—where faith wrestles with doubt, and rock guitars carry prayers I didn’t know I was saying.

I didn’t grow up dreaming of a music career. But the first time I heard Switchfoot, something clicked. It wasn’t just the sound—it was the honesty. The grit. The ache. I wanted to make music that felt like that.

My debut single, “Chase,” helped me become a Top 100 artist in A.R. Rahman’s Nexa Music Season 2.
My latest track, “Why Do You Love Me So Much?”, builds on that same cry for meaning—just louder, rawer, and more sure of its scars.

It’s the sound of Switchfoot raised on samosa chats and second chances.

For the ones still searching. For the ones who feel like misfits.
I make music for the in-between.
